magnets on microwave

i have an over the stove microwave that has on side exposed( there is no
upper cabint on one side ). if i put some strong magnets on the open
metal side will they interfere with the micrwave or somehow damage it ?

I can't imagine anything possibly going wrong. If the magnets stick to
the oven case then the case is steel which will in itself provide a
quite effective shield for the field from the magnets.

Be very observant for the next few edays. The magnets may pull all the
microwave over to one side of the oven, and then you'll have food
which heats unevenly. Be sure you put an equal number of magnets on
the other side.

Your microwave already has some fairly powerful magnets inside which are
part of what makes it work. It seems unlikely that sticking even the
best neodymium magnets you can buy onto the case could cause any damage.
