For example, for someone who's applying for a green

I agree the system needs a major overhaul and update,
No, scooter, you don't agree with that.

When the system doesn't work, scooter, people break the law.

Freedom from what?
Freedom to use the N-word?
Freedom to bully people that are different from you?

Part of my problem in food prices and consumption is
I have to walk to get the food
When i had a winn dixie it was not such a big deal even tho it was a
farther walk than aldis

I cannot buy an apple at aldis
You have to buy a five pound bag
Much of their produce is sold in bulk
I usually cannot use up a five pound bag of anything before it goes bad.

If i buy an assortment of things, i have to balance light vs bulk to safely
carry home.

The alternative is amazon, but that includes the delivery premium

Pardon if this is inappropriate. If you can manage a bicycle or
tricycle, you can get a trailer. That would allow you carry as
much as car.

Not inappropriate.

But I doubt I could manage a bike anymore, even though I wish I could.
Trike maybe. There seem to be a lot of options on the market now.

I am more worried about safety. Besides that the streets are not well
maintained , the drivers here are not respectful of cyclists. There are no
bicycle lanes. Last year, they finally laid sidewalk between my house and
the Aldis. I used to have to cross a few fields. At least it is a little
bit safer now.

I generally do not mind the walk. I mind having to buy five pounds of
stuff that I have to use up faster than I would prefer.

I should add, I have neighbors who all drive. Often, when we buy things
that we cannot use up, we just give each other half the package.

If you can use that sidewalk to Aldi, a trike would be a good choice.
There are electric ones to make it even easier.

I don't know what the future holds, but if I can no longer drive, that
will be my choice. Fortunately, it is paged all the way and only 1 mile.

This one has a 30 mile range.

Thanks guys
i will think more about it

In fairness, my one neighbor has been trying to get us to chip in together
to buy one
She wants me to ride in a side car

Lol

She keeps showing me ones from catalogues like Hammacher Schlemmer

I cannot imagine repairs using a catalogue company, but supposedly they
have lifetime guarantees

I will always recommend a bicycle, so there is that. Then again I
got suburban streets, sidewalks, and even bikepaths.

Good luck.

Usually the poorly maintained infrastructure is due to "conservative"
local management refusing to raise taxes.
Numerous election cycles have depleted the reserves of Wilmot Township
in Ontario. They have been proud of having the lowest taxes in the
province. They are looking at a whopping 50% tax increase for 2025 -
which will cost the average homeowner an extra $500 per year - and
make them in the lower half of average.

The Cheney war machine likes to spend US tax dollars on foreign wars...but Dick and Lizard are radical Democrats.

I do not have Kroger

I have Aldis and Walmart. Potentially Publix. And some of the neighbors
use Instacart.

I will eventually have to resort to those types of solutions.
